It felt great to be back on the island, and we both breathed a sigh of contentment as we drove down to Victoria from Nanaimo, passing through the lush green scenery. What a change from snowy, grey Edmonton. So when we woke up to a foot and a half of snow the next morning, we were less than pleased. It was more snow than I’d seen in Victoria for as long as I could remember. We still squeezed in some workouts, hiking through the snow to the rec centre, and were still able to get around to where we wanted to be, so it wasn’t so bad. It also made it so we were able to see our friend Kris, since his work schedule was interrupted by the terrible conditions, so we forgave the snow… a bit.
We visited some of our favourite restaurants (Pagliacci’s and the Blue Fox) and were able to visits with lots of friends and family (and Belle got to play with her cousin Molly some more). Our friends Scott and Sarah even hosted a get-together for us on our last night there, so we were able to maximize visiting time. Sarah even made us a fancy cake! It was a great time, and over too soon, but we’ll be back!

Do you think maybe that you were able to get around the snow in Victoria because of all of the practice that you had all winter in Edmonton? Remember practice makes perfect. Looks like you had a great holiday!
