Banff!

So I’m still a little behind, but here are some pictures of our trip to Banff. Having had an early Thanksgiving dinner thanks to Guy and Shirley in Langley the weekend before, we headed out to the mountains for some fresh air and relaxation on Thanksgiving weekend.

We arrived Friday night and walked into town for a dinner of delicious fondue, while Belle charmed the other restaurant patrons. The next day we enjoyed an incredible Thanksgiving brunch buffet at the Fairmont (we both had the best omelettes we’ve ever had) then spent the rest of the afternoon hiking up Sulphur Mountain. It was a long hike with 20lbs of baby, plus a baby carrier full of baby supplies and extra layers, but as much as Michelle offered to take a shift, I had already decided I was going to haul our little piglet all the way up the mountain, even if it killed me. The views from the top were incredible, and while we were happy we’d made the hike up, we were more than happy to take the gondola back down. Michelle spent Sunday morning studying, while Belle and I wandered around looking for a nice restaurant for lunch. We ended up finding one, which was great, because my awesome Aunt, Uncle and Cousin drove in from Golden to treat us for the meal. We had a great time catching up, and Belle loved all the attention. Afterwards we strolled along the river until they had to hop back in the car to get back for their Thanksgiving dinner in Golden. We’re so happy they came out, and it was definitely the highlight of our visit. Our last day in Banff, we had a leisurely breakfast, then a relaxing soak in the cave-themed hot tub at the hotel. We then hopped back in the car for the 5 hour trip back home, and that was that. It was a fantastic weekend, and I’m sure that Banff hasn’t seen the last of us.
