We left Severn Lodge on Sunday morning and headed back to the cottage to help Yvon and Claudine bring some things back to Toronto. They were putting us up for the night, and we had our huge Dodge Charger, so we were happy to load it up. Little did we know, the Charger didn’t have much “charge” left in it. We were cruising down the 400, when suddenly I realized I wasn’t able to accelerate any more. It soon became apparent that the engine had completely shut down. We coasted over to the shoulder and turned the car off, then turned it back on again. The engine made a horrendous noise, and as soon as I took it out of park, it shut off again. Toast. We called the rental agency’s tow company, and a friendly OPP officer helped us push it further off the road while we waited. We also called Yvon and Claudine, who were almost home, so they whisked home, threw everything out of their SUV onto the driveway, and Yvon raced back to get us. We had a fantastic evening at their place, and in the morning Yvon dropped us off at the train station on his way to work. We hopped on the train, and off we headed to Quebec! We had a dinner stopover in Montreal, and Michelle’s brother picked us up at the Ste Foy station in Quebec city!
