Some Edmonton Updates and a Big First for Belle

Over the last couple days we’ve gotten some knitted booties that look like Converse high-tops (thanks, Anna!), gone to a street performer’s festival with Graham and Emily, taken a long stroll through the River Valley, tried out Edmonton sushi (not too shabby) and introduced solids into Belle’s diet!
Most of those things are fairly self-explanatory via the pictures below, but I’ll go into a bit more depth with the introduction of solids. According to those “in the know,” we were supposed to give Belle her regular bottle, then try spooning in some fairly soupy rice cereal at the end. Apparently they were good instructions, because she messily devoured the first spoonful, and reached for more. We only gave her a little bit today, but we’ll slowly increase the amounts over the next little while, as well as start introducing new stuff! We have a baby food grinder (thanks, Connie!), so we’re pretty excited to start throwing stuff into it (though we have some guidelines for what to introduce when) and see what she likes and what she doesn’t. It’s a brave new world!

I want some of those knit converse booties :) Seriously awesome!

Also, welcome to the next phase of parenting, now meals with Belle AND Cooper will be followed by a mop! Well, maybe not with Belle yet- that probably starts once she’s in charge of the spoon and/or feedings.

Looks like a good time for everyone. Edmonton has lots of festivals in the summer and there is good food there too.
Belle looks so cute and I love the new hair. It is coming in so perfectly. Will it be curly like mom’s? She seems to really like solids too What an amazing child!!! Love you all!
