Day two began with brunch at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. After the amazing meal, we set Michelle up with a latte, a view of the lake and her emergency medicine textbook, while Belle and I went for a stroll around Lake Beauvert. We were looking for bears and moose, but only saw deer; a couple does and some fawns (the stag pictures are from the drive into Jasper).
After the Fairmont, we headed back to the suite for an epic nap, followed by an early celebration dinner for my birthday! We went to a place called Evil Dave’s, where I had bison and bacon meatloaf with cheddar garlic mashed potatoes, covered in gravy, sauteed mushrooms and onion straws; it was fantastic. Michelle had a variation on Pad Thai which was also delicious. We finished with some of the best cheesecake we’ve ever had, so it was definitely a great birthday treat.
