So last I left you, we were off to watch the women’s Canada versus Finland hockey game. It was tons of fun, and the atmosphere inside Canada Hockey Place was pretty electric. It would have been nice to see a more balanced game, but at the same time, it was also nice to watch us win. Belle had a great time at Craig and Katie’s and all in all it was a great evening.
We spent the rest of the Olympics in a pretty low-key fashion, not going out to see too much stuff, since the lines had gotten even more ridiculous (seven hours to see the medals at the Canadian Mint Pavilion). We had some visitors (Sue and Tom, Rhonda, Mike and Cait), watched lots on TV, and finished it up watching the men’s gold medal hockey game at Kyle and Magda’s, and then watching the closing ceremonies at home. I was also able to make it up to Whistler for a day of snowboarding, and the Olympics even made that better, since there was absolutely nobody on the hill (though the village was packed). We loved having the Olympics in Vancouver and I’m sad to see them gone, though our sentiment might have been different had we been commuting into town.
The pictures below are just from the final week of the Olympics, but we’ll have to add one of Sue and Tom later, since I can’t find one right now.
