Here’s my first post on the blog!
In early February we had a visit from John and Jill Alden, AKA grandpa John and grandma Jill. As a military kid that moved around a lot, and was away from our “biological” family, there are a few people who I’ve adopted as family, and John and Jill are like second parents to me. They were also part of the select few who were in on the secret that Patrick and I were trying to start a family – mostly because it was very suspicious that I wasn’t drinking while we were on holiday in Las Vegas. For me, that was very suspicious indeed!
We had a great visit, and Belle was very spoiled, yet again! FYI: the pink blanket in many pictures was actually knitted by Jill – I can always dream I’ll get to that level someday, right? My folks also had a great party in their honour to celebrate John’s recovery from colon cancer.
It was sad to say goodbye, but hopefully we’ve all come to the conclusion that flights from Toronto to Vancouver are all required to have overnight stopovers in Edmonton as of July 1st…
